Sound installation — 2021

Forty small speakers hang in a darkened room, each playing a single isolated voice from a recorded community choir. Near any one speaker, you hear a person — breath, imperfection, individuality. Only at the room's center do the voices resolve into harmony.

Coro is the simplest statement of a theme that runs through all my work: collective coherence is made of individual voices, and the position you take determines which you perceive.
