Expanded cinema installation — 2023

Umbral ("threshold") separates a single film into three layers — water, city, voice — projected through three depths of translucent fabric. Visitors walk between the screens, and their bodies become part of the projection surface: to see the whole image, you must stand inside it.

The piece works with home-movie archives contributed by migrant families in Berlin, shown with their collaboration. It is the artistic sibling of the Atlas of Arrival research — the same questions about visibility and consent, answered with light instead of interface.
